who wrote the book of love song

Who wrote the Book of Love song? The 90s are a great time for music, but also for music questions. Many youngsters still have doubts about who wrote the book of love song. The band was named Five for Fighting, being composed by John Ondrasik who also wrote the lyrics. His version of the book of love became a big hit in 2000 and stayed on top of the charts for several weeks. The song is part of an album released by Five for Fighting that same year, called “America Town”. In case you didn’t know, this was the name of John’s hometown where he grew up and listened to FM radio at a young age and began to learn how to play instruments.

When I was writing my post titled “Who Wrote The Book Of Love?”, I thought it would be nice to check if there is a song called “The Book Of Love” by a band with the same name. There was one, so I added it to my post. However, when I looked up who the band members were, I found that they were named “The Monotones”. Wikipedia article says they had a million hits in 1958 and 1959 with their song “Book Of Love”. So maybe this is what Robert Knight was thinking about when he wrote his song.

I was dating this guy a few years ago and discovered that we had a pretty good musical bond. He was a part of a dance crew and knew most of the dance moves from the newest pop culture sensation to succeed. I work as a copywriter so I could catch up with him at his workplace during my break from work. When I arrived, he would be watching Youtube, trying to learn the latest dance move that his group needed to have mastered for their next performance.

Lead singer Charles Patrick heard a Pepsodenttoothpaste commercial with the line “you’ll wonder where the yellow went”/ “when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent”, which inspired him to come up with, “I wonder, wonder, wonder who, who wrote the book of love”. He worked it up into a song with Davis and Malone. The “boom” part of the song was a result of a kid kicking a ball against the garage while they were rehearsing. It sounded good, so they added it to the song.

In September 1957, the Monotones recorded “The Book of Love”; it was released on the Mascot label in December that year. The small record company could not cope with its popularity, and it was reissued on Chess Records‘ subsidiary Argo label in February 1958. On the Billboard charts, “The Book of Love” peaked at No. 5 on the pop chart and No. 3 on the R&B chart.[1] Outside the US, the song reached No. 5 in Australia.
